What is stress?

Stress is your body's way of responding to any kind of demand. It can be caused by both good and bad experiences. When people feel stressed or their body is stressed then their bodies react by releasing chemicals into the blood. These chemicals give people more energy and strength, which can be a good thing if their stress is caused by an immediate danger. But this can also be a bad thing, if their stress is in response to something emotional or physical and there is no outlet for this extra energy and strength.

What causes stress?

Stress may result from a large number of factors including but not limited to allergens, bacteria and viruses, chemicals, dehydration, emotional issues, exercise, fast foods, financial problems, fungi and fungal infections, genetically altered foods, headaches and migraines, heavy metals, irradiation, lack of sleep, low self concept, medical conditions, diseases or disorders, microwave radiation, nutritional deficiencies, overworking, pain, parasites, prescription drugs, and psychological conditions, diseases or disorders. What does to much Stress do to the human body? Stress is thought to be an important factor in many health problems. Early stress researchers found that regardless of the environmental stressor, a generalized physiological response was activated in the organism called the "fight or flight," or stress response and termed the General Adaptation Syndrome by Hans Selye. When an individual encounters a stressor, the body part that first notes the stimulus passes the signal to the brain. The message passes through the reticular activating system to the hypothalamus and thalamus. When the hypothalamus experiences the stressor signal, it simultaneously activates the two major stress pathways: the autonomic nervous system and the endocrine system. When the sympathetic part of the autonomic nervous system is activated by the hypothalamus, involuntary functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, and body fluid regulation are affected. At the same time, the pituitary gland is stimulated, which in turn orders the release of several chemical hormones. The chemical cortisol provides fuel for the "fight or flight" response by increasing blood sugar so that there is energy for action. Aldosterone increases the blood pressure. Epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine are also produced, along with thyroxin. These brain chemicals, elicited by the fight-fight response, in turn, cause the following to occur: 1. Acceleration of heart rate 2. Dilation of coronary arteries 3. Dilation of bronchial tubes 4. Increase in force of heart contractions 5. Increase in rate of metabolism 6. Increase in anxiety 7. Increase in gastrointestinal motility 8. Increase in rate and depth of respiration 9. Decrease in feeling of tiredness 10. Decrease in Salvation (dry mouth) 11. Dilation of pupils The physical problems related to chronic stress include the lowering of the immune response, chronic muscle tension, and increased blood pressure. These problems can eventually lead to serious life-threatening illnesses such as heart attacks, kidney disease, and cancer. Holmes and Rahe and others have found that individuals who have undergone several stressful life events over a year's time have a much higher probability of developing these types of serious illness, within a few years of the events, than non-stressed individuals. Some health problems that may be caused by stress: diarrhea nausea indigestion sphincter of Oddi spasms spastic colon irritable bowel syndrome constipation colds and sinus infections vaginal yeast infection bladder infections fibromyalgia arthritis high blood pressure heart disease hyperventilation asthma headaches migraines Some individuals react with the "fight or flight" response, whereas other individuals either suppress the response or do not react to it at all. To accommodate the individual differences in the activation of the stress response, the concept of cognition was proposed. In other words, the thought process of the individual in response to the stressor is considered important. What might be perceived as a stressor by one person might not be seen as a stressor by another.

INDIGO Biofeedback System

In approximately five minutes, the INDIGO Biofeedback System can simultaneously detect and record information about the individual client's stress reactions. The INDIGO Biofeedback System reveals a client's voltage, amperage, resistance, hydration, oxygen, proton and electron pressure (VARHOPE) scores; these electrical calculations are important indicators of the health / stress of various different functions in the body. Different lifestyle factors which could be contributing to the body's overall stress load are reflected in the INDIGO Biofeedback System's Suppression Obstruction Cure (SOC) scores. Information about reactions to over 11,000 subtle stress related signatures and physiological parameters are also reported for client education.

What is Quantum Biofeedback?

Quantum Biofeedback is an emerging technology that interfaces with the body at biological speeds - the speed of a computer – providing results within minutes as opposed to days and weeks. Quantum Biofeedback, facilitated through use of the Indigo system, and is the most profound energetic biofeedback system currently available and is leading the way to non-invasive, drugless stress reduction techniques. What is the science behind Quantum Biofeedback? The accuracy and reliability of the Indigo System is based on decades of research conducted in the field of bio-energetic and bio-response. Science has shown us that the body is indeed electric; therefore electrical reactivity in the body can be calculated via responses to impedance, amperage, voltage, capacitance, inductance and measures sixteen electrical parameters of the body. This makes the Indigo unique. In a nutshell, Quantum Science and Traditional or Classical Biofeedback merges to create Quantum Biofeedback.

Basic Roadmap to Health

1. Clean air inside and outside the home. Use a good air filtration and cleaning system in the home. Omit chemicals and chemical cleaners in the home. 2. At least 20 minutes of sunshine (early morning) everyday. Sunshine stimulates the pineal gland for proper melatonin production (melatonin promotes sleep) and sunshine converts cholesterol into vitamin D. 3. Drink half your body weight in ounces everyday of filtered water, distilled (if you are detoxifying) or spring water. There are many different opinions on which water is best…just drink clean water. 4. Think positive, loving thoughts. Negative thoughts impact our health negatively. This is a proven fact. 5. Take a good quality high powered multi-vitamin-mineral supplement. 6. Take a probiotic supplement everyday. Probiotics are the healthy bacteria (like found in yogurt) that live throughout our digestive tract. Antibiotics kill these friendly organisms. Probiotics are vital for optimum health. They help you retain minerals, detoxify hormones in the colon, boost immunity, and produce vitamins and neurotransmitters. 7. Eat or take an essential fatty acid supplement. Salmon, nuts and seeds and avocados are foods that are rich in these essential fats. Essential fats are important for hormones, cell membranes, blood viscosity, supple skin, as an anti-inflammatory and much more. 8. Deep breath everyday. Slowly inhale and allow your belly, not chest, to expand. Hold for a few seconds and then slowly exhale. All this is done through the nose. 10 times 3 or more times per day. 9. Get good deep restful sleep. Try to get to be before midnight. Every hour before midnight is equal to two hours after midnight. Our body was meant to follow a specific circadian rhythm. Altering this rhythm creates many problems and interferes with the normal secretion of valuable hormones. 10. Eat fresh vegetables with every meal. Follow Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s “Eat for Health” “Nutritarian” plan or the “Hallelujah Diet” by Reverend Malkamus or Dr. Gabriel Cousens. 11. Don’t consume white flour, sugar, soft drinks of any kind, coffee, dairy products or fried foods. Prepare your own fresh whole foods at home. Eat at least 75% raw fresh foods. 12. pH is everything. I can not stress this enough. If your pH is low then your body has to take alkaline minerals from the bones, muscles or any where else you may have minerals to maintain the proper blood pH just to keep you alive. When you saturate your system, as in juicing, with minerals then your body starts to take the excess minerals and put them back into your bones, muscles etc… If you pH is low then you may not absorb your supplements, or the nutrients from your food as well.

Sea Salt

Sea salt, which is obtained by evaporating seawater, contains essential minerals and nutrients that are removed from table salt during the refining process. The sodium and chloride content in sea salt and table salt are similar, but sea salt has larger crystals with more flavor than powdered table salt. Minerals contained in sea salt are in their natural ratios, and this helps keep the body’s electrolytes in balance. Mineral Source Apart from sodium, which is the primary mineral of any salt, pure sea salt retains all essential natural elements from the sea. Sea salt can contain magnesium, calcium, potassium, iron, zinc and iodine. Each of these elements is essential for good human health. For instance, calcium is required for bone formation, magnesium is necessary for proper cell and brain function and iodine is essential to the cell metabolism necessary for normal growth. Electrolyte Balance Pure sea salt contains approximately 80 essential elements and minerals in their natural ratio that are essential for maintaining a healthy balance of electrolytes in the body. This balance bolsters transmission of information between the brain and nerve cells, which influences heart rate, blood pressure and muscle tension, among other functions. Also, sea salt helps the kidneys get rid of excess acidity from body fluids while at the same time helping to regulate blood sugar levels. Sea Salt information copied from http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/benefits-eating-sea-salt-8730.html Dr. Brownstein author of “Salt Your Way to Health” recommends Redmond Realsalt or Celtic Sea Salt based on his laboratory analysis of various sea salts. Use sea salt in moderation. Dr. Joel Fuhrman and Dr. Max Gerson both recommend a very high potassium and low sodium diet. Based on Dr. Vickery, Dr. Brownstein and Dr. Lam some people with adrenal issues, chronic fatigue and or fibromyalgia may have a higher need for sodium in their diet that the average person. If you have swelling of any kind, or high blood pressure you should probably get your sodium through your vegetables like celery, carrots and beets and remove added salt from your diet.

The Hidden Culprit Behind Your Age-Related Diseases and Health

Problems

How to Put an End to the Culprit and Restore Yourself to Perfect Health There's a health culprit that sneaks up on you when you're not looking—one that could erupt into a chronic problem with serious, and often devastating, health consequences. That problem is called acidosis. Acidosis is a health condition in the body characterized by increased acidity in the blood and other body tissues. When your pH levels are too low, it means acid is eating away at your heart, brain cells, muscles, bones, joints—and practically every organ of your body—causing an untold number of health problems such as arthritis, cancer, diabetes, heart problems, high blood pressure, depression, joint pain, osteoporosis, bladder and kidney conditions, digestive problems—and even premature aging. Fortunately, you can easily identify acidosis and reverse it with proven, simple steps before it ruins your health.

This is Your Body on Acid

Acidosis affects all cellular activities and functions. You may remember from your high school chemistry class that the pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. This scale shows how acidic or alkalizing a substance is.

The pH Scale Simplified

Substances with a pH over 7 are alkalizing Substances with a pH under 7 are acidic Substances with a pH of 7 are neutral In order for our blood to effectively transport oxygen and other vital nutrients, its pH needs to stay within a very narrow range—7.36 to 7.44, though the closer to 7.4 exactly, the better. Deviations too far in either direction can be dangerous. Most tissues in our body are naturally alkaline. However, when we eat acid- forming foods ... or when we work our muscles... when we're exposed to acid rain from the environment, or pollutants in the air or water ... when we take prescription drugs... or even when we just breathe, we generate acid. That acid must then be neutralized to keep the pH of our blood balanced.

The 10-Fold Difference

One important fact to know about the pH scale is that there is a 10-fold difference between each number. So, a liquid with a pH of 6 is 10 times more acidic than pure water, which is generally agreed to have a pH of 7, and a liquid with a pH of 5 is 100 times more acidic than water. The next time you reach for a can of soda, keep in mind that the typical soft drink has a pH of 3, meaning it is a whopping 10,000 times more acidic than water. Soda is not the only highly acidic staple of the standard American diet. Other offenders include... Coffee Eggs Most types of bread and pasta Seafood Flesh meats Cheese Beans Popcorn Barley and other grains Chocolate Eating these foods can produce an extra 100mEq (a measure of liquid) of acid daily—that's close to twice the amount you body is equipped to neutralize!

How Acid Destroys You from the Inside Out

Your body maintains a proper pH balance by eliminating or neutralizing acids. But when too much acid is produced, your body becomes overwhelmed. As acids build up, your pH balance decreases more and more. Eventually, in its attempts to restore a proper pH balance, your body begins to pull minerals from your bones...teeth...and vital tissues. Acidosis destroys your body from the inside out, creating the perfect environment for pathogens to thrive. When your body remains in an acidic state for a prolonged period of time, it puts you at greater risk of illnesses and diseases. All our internal organs suffer when our pH levels are off. Research indicates acidosis may be the root cause of many forms of cancer.

Perfect Storm For Cancer

Studies have shown that there are two environment prerequisites for the development of cancer cells: a lack of oxygen and an acidic pH. Acidosis creates both those conditions.

Create a Whole New You

Even if you've accumulated years of acid damage, it's not too late. Every day, you get a chance to start over. No matter how unhealthy your lifestyle has been... how much junk food you've eaten... how much alcohol you've consumed... how many recreational drugs you've taken... or how much pollution you've been exposed to, you can return your body to a healthy pH and protect your future health. It is widely acknowledged that the best alkaline-forming foods include fruits (such as acai, camu-camu and the cacao fruit), leafy green vegetables (such as moringa and wheatgrass), and sea vegetables/algae (such as spirulina and chlorella). When you consume these superfoods on a daily basis, (link did not work) it's equivalent to flooding your body with an alkaline-forming elixir that supports healing and health resoration. The human body has an amazing ability to regenerate. If you give it materials it needs, you can create a new and improved you! In less than one year, your body will have rebuilt 98% of itself, cell by cell. It takes a year for your brain to replace itself, 4 months for your blood supply, 3 months for your entire skeleton, 6 weeks for your liver, a month for your skin, and just 5 days for the lining of your stomach! What you put in your body today determines the state of your health tomorrow. With the right ingredients, you can experience a total body transformation in as little as 30 days. That's what "Mr. B," a self-made millionaire, did. In his mid-40s, Mr. B began to experience the unwelcome changes that often accompany getting older, like hair loss... wrinkles... weight gain... and age-related health problems. Are You Eating Enough Alkaline Foods to Maintain Vital Health?

The chart below provides information that shows the contribution of various food substances to the acidifying of body fluids, and ultimately, to the urine, saliva, and blood. In general, it is important to eat a diet that contains foods from both sides of the chart. Allergic reactions and other forms of stress tend to produce acids in the body. The presence of high acidity indicates that more of your foods should be selected from the alkalizing group. People vary, but for most, the ideal diet is 75 percent alkalizing and 25 percent acidifying foods by volume. If you are under a great deal of stress it is even more important for you to follow a high alkaline diet just to keep your system balanced.

Dehydration: A serious problem.

Even if you drink plenty of water you may still be dehydrated. Dr. Tennant states that an acid state impedes the cells ability to absorb water, oxygen and nutrition. So if you can not stay hydrated then you may acidic. This list of 13 symptoms will inspire you to go get a glass of water, and then another, and another... After each symptom we will show how lack of fluid affects the issue. Fatigue, Energy Loss: Dehydration of the tissues causes enzymatic activity to slow down. Constipation: When chewed food enters the colon, it contains too much liquid to allow stools to form properly, and the wall of the colon reduces it. In chronic dehydration, the colon takes too much water to give to other parts of the body. Digestive Disorders: In chronic dehydration, the secretions of digestive juices are lessened. High and Low Blood Pressure: The body's blood volume is not enough to completely fill the entire set of arteries, veins, and capillaries. Gastritis, Stomach Ulcers: To protect its mucous membranes from being destroyed by the acidic digestive fluid it produces, the stomach secretes a layer of mucus. Mucous has high water content. Respiratory Troubles: The mucous membranes of the respiratory region are slightly moist to protect the respiratory tract from substances that might be present in inhaled air. Acid-Alkaline Imbalance: Dehydration activates an enzymatic slowdown producing acidification. Excess Weight and Obesity: We may overeat because we crave foods rich in water. Thirst is often confused with hunger. Eczema: Your body needs enough moisture to sweat 20 to 24 ounces of water, the amount necessary to dilute toxins so they do not irritate the skin. Cholesterol: When dehydration causes too much liquid to be removed from inside the cells, the body tries to stop this loss by producing more cholesterol. Cystitis, Urinary Infections: If toxins contained in urine are insufficiently diluted, they attack the urinary mucous membranes. Rheumatism: Dehydration abnormally increases the concentration of toxins in the blood and cellular fluids, and the pains increase in proportion to the concentration of the toxins. Premature Aging: The body of a newborn child is composed of 80 percent liquid, but this percentage declines to no more than 70 percent in an adult and continues to decline with age. Drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water per day. Tea, juices, smoothies and other beverages are not considered water contrary to what you may have heard. Symptoms of Mild Dehydration: · Fatigue and weakness · Headaches · Nausea · Dry mucous membranes in nose, mouth, or throat · Nosebleeds (especially in dry interior air during winter) · Dark, concentrated, strong-smelling urine in small quantities · Irritability or unusual irrational behavior · Weak, irregular pulse · Low blood pressure · Shallow, rapid breathing · Constipation or cramps Common Conditions Linked to Dehydration: · Digestive Problems · Burning Itching Skin · Aging · Lack of Energy · Water Retention Problems · Muscle Soreness · Difficulty Losing Weight · Excess Body Fat · Morning Sickness During Pregnancy · Persistent Constipation · High Blood Pressure · Poor Muscle Tone and Size · Kidney and Bladder Problems · Anxiety and Depression · Trouble Focusing or Concentrating · Short-Term Memory Loss · Headaches (Including Migraines)

Here are a few other potential consequences of dehydration:

* Even if you’re only suffering mild dehydration, your metabolism will slow down as much as 3% * Increased chance for asthmatic individuals to suffer an attack * The decreased blood volume can lead to an increased chance for a heart attack * May compromise liver function as it causes the liver to be overloaded with toxins If you only drink water when you are thirsty, you probably aren't drinking enough. That’s because our thirst mechanisms aren't usually a good indicator of when we need water. When you become thirsty, chances are you’re already dehydrated. It is extremely important to overcome the symptoms of dehydration in adults as it could lead to dire consequences. Drink half you body weight in ounces every day of clean water. So if you weigh 150 ponds you should consume at least 75 ounces of water per day, this does not include tea, coffee, soda etc…

CANDIDA YEAST OVERGROWTH

Candida Yeast overgrowth of the naturally occurring Candida, and the upset biochemistry this brings may be a contributing factor with ADD/ADHD, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, weight gain/loss problems, mood and memory problems and many other health issues. We all have Candida Yeast in our bodies. Instead of focusing on one specific pathogen such as Candida let’s look at the body as a whole organism just for a moment. Based on Dr Jerry Tennant’s work all living organisms have trillions of microorganisms that lay dormant in the body if we maintain the proper cellular pH level. If the cellular pH decreased even a small amount these sleeping pathogens wake up and start to feed on our cells. They also start producing their own metabolic waste which makes the cellular environment even more acidic which wakes up more microorganisms. These microorganisms can morph into all different types of pathogens based on Gary Tunsky’s findings. So the best way to reduce our stress as it relates to pathogenic infection of all types is to keep a balanced cellular pH. The reason I have highlighted cellular as it refers to pH is that most people, especially people in the medical field, realize that the blood pH can only change slightly before you get very sick and die. The body works very hard maintaining the proper blood pH of 7.35-7.45. Maintaining the proper pH is critical for the chemical reactions that occur in the body. The kidney removes toxic wastes and helps maintain blood pH and the lungs remove high levels of CO2 which also helps maintain proper pH levels in the blood. Researchers find that most people are at least slightly "acidic"; their pH is low. If your pH is too acidic, your body borrows minerals - such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium - from vital organs and bones to neutralize and remove the acid. Although high acidity may not be outwardly noticeable, it can severely affect overall health in a negative way. Most people might dismiss high acidity as normal signs of aging such as fatigue, muscle stiffness and weak or arthritic joints. Ok, so if we are constantly borrowing minerals from joints, muscle and bones then when do we actually repay the bank? That’s the problem most people do not eat enough fresh raw foods to replace the mineral stores used in buffering the acids so they develop more symptoms such as high blood pressure, headaches, insomnia, osteoporosis and arthritis. All these conditions are linked to lack of or an imbalance of minerals. It almost seems too simple to be true. We are all told to eat our fruits and vegetable and if we would have eaten enough to counteract the acid that we consumed over the years most of us would be in better shape than what we are now. So now back to Candida. The Candida population should be low and indiscernible (no overt symptoms or cloudy saliva or urine). "Friendly" bacteria and a healthy immune system prevent this yeast from becoming an infectious fungus, in our bodies. It is when our bodies lose their proper immune protection, or the intestinal pH is altered unfavorably, that the organism can change from the yeast form to the fungal form. When this happens, the now-parasitic fungal form penetrates the gastrointestinal mucosa and breaks down the boundary between the intestinal tract and the rest of the circulation in our bodies. This allows partially digested dietary proteins to travel into the bloodstream, where they exert a powerful antigenic (antibody-stimulation) assault on the immune system. Undigested proteins in the blood stream can cause auto immune problems of all sorts. Let's examine some of the most common characteristics of Candida Yeast Overgrowth, you will notice the similarities to ADD/ADHD symptoms immediately: 1.) Cravings for grains (simple carbohydrates), dairy and SUGAR. 2.) Hyperactivity/Hyperexcitability. 3.) Anger, Mood Swings, Instant Irritability, "Spaciness". 4.) Depression and/or Anxiety. 5.) Inappropriate behavior (odd noises, talking loudly, etc.) 6.) Memory problems, and/or Poor Attention Span. 7.) Dry, Itchy, Flaky Skin. 8.) Food & Environmental Allergies. 9.) Jock Itch, Acne, Canker Sores, or other Skin Problems. 10) Heartburn, Poor Digestion, Lethargy, Leg Pains. 11) Difficulty falling asleep. 12) Recurring cystitis/vaginal infections. 13) Premenstrual tension, and menstrual problems Excessive antibiotic use can create symptoms that can manifest slowly such as focusing problems or hyperactivity in children. Spaciness, concentration problems, memory issues, anger, fatigue, muscle aches and pain, the list goes on in adults. So of these behaviors can mimic ADD/ADHD, deceiving parents, teachers, and even Medical Doctors, often leading to the unwarranted use of potent medications, with side effects that exacerbate the problem. If a Candida Yeast Overgrowth is contributing to your ADD/ADHD problem, ADD/ADHD prescription medications may well relieve the symptoms, but will do nothing to impact the underlying problem. A child isn't always hyper-active, but may be hyper-excitable. When a child is hyperexcitable, they can hyper-focus on activities such as video/computer games for a long time. At other times, they may escalate into a frenzy of activity and excitement, experiencing great difficulty trying to "de-escalate", or calm down. This ADD/ADHD'er could be exhibiting symptoms of a magnesium deficiency as well, which often accompanies Candida Yeast Overgrowth. http://www.adhdrelief.com/candida.html (link doesn’t work)

Optional Candida Diet

The Phase One Diet for Candida on the next page is an optional Candida diet that allows for animal protein consumption. It is a mistake to think that a person can eat a low carbohydrate diet that is high in meat and get rid of fungal, bacterial and or viral infections. Meat leaves an acid ash residue in the body after it is digested, processed and assimilated. If you do eat meat you must balance the offset of your pH with plenty of fresh raw vegetables or vegetable juices. Even this may not work for some people. That is why I prefer Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s Nutritarian Diet over other Candida diets. So keep that in mind when following Doug Kauffman’s diet and other Candida diets. Notes: (My view) Dr. Fuhrman’s diet is high in micronutrients, low in starch, has minimal insulin impact, high alkaline, hypoallergenic, gluten free, and is low fat. This is the perfect diet for the modern era including everything from heat disease, diabetes, cancer, Candida etc… The starch in Dr. Fuhrman’s diet comes from root vegetables, oatmeal and beans. Beans offer a high protein, high fiber and nutrient dense food that also helps stabilize the blood sugar. The action of the intestinal flora on beans in the intestines creates an acid that actually stabilizes blood sugar as long as twenty-four hours after their consumption. Making beans a more ideal protein source for Candida sufferers that meat. However you must adjust your fruit consumption on Dr. Fuhrman’s diet to include these fruits only while you are dealing with fungal issues. Only eat berries, grapefruit, lemon, lime, green apples, avocado, fresh coconut, kiwi and cherries.

Phase One Diet for Candida

This is based on Doug Kaufmann's Information from "The Fungal Link" book. Please see his website below for more information. For fungal, yeast or candida issues follow this phase for 14-30 days and repeat as necessary. Then follow phase two. EGGS: organic or free range eggs only FRUIT: berries, grapefruit, lemon, lime, green apples, avocado, fresh coconut, kiwi, cherries MEATS: organic, free range or wild caught fish, poultry and beef. NOTE: If you are doing the diet vegetarian then increase your beans, greens, nuts, seeds and add a small amount of quinoa, buckwheat and amaranth. Remember to keep everything in moderation too much of these foods can feed candida. VEGETABLES: Most fresh, unblemished vegetables and freshly made vegetable juice NO CORN OR POTATOES BEVERAGES: bottled or filtered water, non-fruity herbal teas, stevia sweetened fresh lemonade or limeade, freshly squeezed carrot juice (see below) VINEGAR: apple cider vinegar OILS: olive, grape, flax seed, cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil NUTS: raw nuts, including pecans, almonds, walnuts, cashews, flax, chia, and pumpkin seeds. Soak nuts before consuming. Stored nuts tend to gather mold, so be careful! SWEETENERS: Stevia, Stevia Plus, birch tree extracted Xylitol DAIRY: Organic Butter Phase 2 diet includes Phase 1 plus legumes, some grain products such as quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat, and sweet potatoes. Never eat wheat and corn and their related products!!! All are tainted with mycotoxins, via processing and storage. See below. Alcohol and mushrooms are also excluded in this diet. "Aflatoxin B1 is the most potent liver cancer-forming chemical known. It is a product of a mold called Aspergillus flavus, which is found in food that has been stored in a hot and humid environment. This mold is found in such foods as peanuts, rice, soybeans, corn, and wheat. Aflatoxin B1 has been implicated in the development of liver cancer in Southern China and Sub-Saharan Africa. It is thought to cause cancer by producing mutations in the p53 gene. These mutations work by interfering with the gene's important tumor suppressing functions." If you do not keep your pH level sufficiently raised you will create an environment that is beneficial for harmful candida (yeast) and bacteria. For an extra nutrition and pH boost consider adding a green superfood powder to your daily regimen. These powders can seem pricey but they are worth the money considering the exceptional nutritional support they give. · Drink plenty of water. Water cleanses the body and helps the kidneys remove toxins that yeast and bacteria create and feed on. · Do deep breathing exercises every day. Yeast and bacteria love a low oxygen environment. Remember to relax and breath deeply into your lower abdomen. Cell Food or DMG N,N-Dimethylglycine can also help with oxygen support and utilization. · Take a high powered probiotic with as many beneficial strains of bacteria that you can find. You may have to start slow and gradually increase to avoid detox symptoms. · For severe detox symptoms some people find relief in taking extra powdered fiber, activated charcoal, or bentonite clay, to help absorb toxins. Magnesium can help with pain and also assists the body in many enzymatic processes. Epsom salt bath can help with pain and inflammation. · Candida organisms release many toxins that are harmful to your organs so support your liver with milk thistle or a liver support blend to aid in detoxification and support your kidneys with a tea or herbal blend to protect these vital elimination pathways. · If you need more candida killing support then consider Yeast Away, Candidase, Candistroy, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Oregano Oil, Candida Formula #1 & #2, Garlic etc...

Adrenal Support Product Information

Background: The adrenal glands produce hormones that support the biochemical and physiological mechanisms for dealing with mental and physical stress, and also secrete chemicals involved in nutrient metabolism and energy production. Chronic anxiety, nervous tension and other types of stress may lead to an excess production of cortisol, a hormone involved in stress response. Excess intake of stimulants such as caffeine and sugar can exacerbate stress and lead to adrenal “fatigue”. The constant stimulation of the adrenal glands may eventually result in an abnormal stress response, low energy and poor immune function. Our Adrenal Support formula is a synergistic combination of nutraceuticals designed to support healthy adrenal function.* Features: Siberian eleuthero root extract standardized to 0.5% eleutherosides, from Indena, a leading manufacturer of botanical extracts. Ashwagandha root extract standardized to 1.5% withanolides, a botanical extract manufactured by Sabinsa, a recognized leader in the manufacturing of botanical extracts. Russian source of Rhodiola rosea. This source of Rhodiola is standardized to 3% rosavins (the most efficacious component) and 1.5% salidrosides. Water-soluble vitamins B6, pantothenic acid and vitamin C. Ginger, licorice, astragalus, gotu kola and schizandra all have documented adrenal support functions.* Benefits: Tyrosine for the synthesis of adrenal hormones. The adrenal hormones epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine (noradrenaline) are derived from the amino acid tyrosine and are required for energy production and stress response.* Eleuthero is known for its adaptogenic benefits, including managing fatigue and supporting healthy corticosteroid levels in response to mental and or physical stress.* Studies demonstrate the anti-stress, immune supporting and rejuvenating benefits of ashwagandha.* Rhodiola rosea is a premier adaptogenic herb. Its effects include the support of healthy cortisol and energy levels, managing the negative effects of stress on the body and contributing to an overall feeling of well being.* Vitamin B6 helps to protect the body from the negative effects of glucocorticoid hormones such as cortisol, which is secreted during times of physical and mental stress.* Pantothenic acid and vitamin C have a supporting role in maintaining healthy adrenal gland function.* Licorice root, astragalus, gotu kola and Schizandra all provide a synergistic effect by supporting normal, healthy adrenal function and help the body better deal with the effects of stress.* * These statements have not been evaluated by The Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Adrenal fatigue is complicated and not an easy problem to correct. It may take one to two years to cure. Many times there are underlying health problems that are causing adrenal fatigue. In this case you need to find out what the cause is. It could be an ongoing infection or inflammation. It can be candida overgrowth, irritable bowel syndrome, or any of a number of health problems that cause ongoing stress to the adrenals. The underlying cause needs to be addressed as well.

Supplements That Help Adrenal Fatigue

· Vitamin C (2,000-6,000 mg/day sustained release) -- best taken with bioflavonoids. · Vitamin E w/mixed tocopherols (800 IU/day) · Vitamin B100 Complex · Pantothenic Acid B5 (1200-1500 mg/day) · Magnesium Citrate (400-1200 mg) -- I like this best in the powdered form such as in Natural Calm. This form of magnesium makes sure it is absorbed. Start with small amounts and work up slowley. · Liquid Trace Minerals -- they have a calming effect · Adrenal Glandular -- or desiccated adrenal gland is extremely important in the initial phases of adrenal repair since it provides raw materials to support adrenal function. It also contains some important adrenal hormones.

Herbs That Help Adrenal

· Rhodiola Rosea -- It enhances memory and concentration. It has been shown to reduce stress-induced fatigue and improve mental performance. · Ashwagandha -- It has been shown to have a sedating effect on the body and helps to rebuild the digestive and nervous system. · Eleuthero Root or Siberian Ginseng -- It has been used traditionally to stimulate and nourish the adrenal glands and increases mental alertness. Eleuthero is considered an "adaptogen" which means it can help the body adapt to stress. · Cordyceps -- This is a Chinese mushroom used for supporting the adrenal gland and can also normalize immune function and support kidney, lung, liver, nervous system and cardiovascular function.

Hormones That Help Adrenal Fatigue

As for hormones, it is a good idea to be tested and find out what your hormone levels are before supplementing them. This way you'll know exactly what hormones are deficient. The three hormones below are most often supplemented when dealing with adrenal fatigue. · DHEA - This is a basic adrenal hormone that the adrenals will convert into other hormones. If someone is very deficient in this hormone they may only be able to tolerate a small amount such as 5 mg. The average adult dose ranges between 10 and 25 mg. DHEA will also go on to become sex hormones such as testosterone and estrogen. · Pregnenolone - This is a precursor to many of the hormones produced by the adrenal glands. It is a raw material that supports basic adrenal function. Pregnenolone is best taken towards the evening but may be taken earlier if it interferes with sleep. The usual dose is 50 mg. · Progesterone Cream - Progesterone is the building block for many other major hormones such as cortisol, DHEA, testosterone and estrogen. If you are under a lot of stress and your adrenals are pumping out cortisol, your body will use available progesterone. If too much progesterone is used to produce cortisol, like with adrenal fatigue, not enough is produced to make testosterone which is needed for a woman’s healthy libido. I recommend progesterone in the form of a skin cream. Always make sure that it says progesterone USP so you know it's real progesterone.

Life Style Changes That Help Adrenal Fatigue

· Removal of the stressors. This is the most important step. Emotional stressors such as marital, family, relationship or financial problems needs to be dealt with and normalized. · Rest and sleep are extremely important. You will need nine hours of sleep and maybe more for a very long time. Also rest after meals, at midmorning and mid-afternoon if possible. · Gentle walking is beneficial but vigorous exercise depletes the adrenals. Deep breathing and stretching is also beneficial. You should exercise to relax rather than to build muscles or lose weight. · Replace toxic cleaning products used around the house with natural products. There are natural alternatives available for cleaning. Hair dyes, shampoos, makeup and skin care products need to be replaced with natural versions. Adrenals are stressed by chemicals and so this is very important. · Detoxification sauna therapy using an infrared sauna will greatly speed up recovery. If you are in adrenal burnout, use the sauna daily for no more than 30 minutes. Once or twice a week is excellent for prevention.

Adrenal Fatigue Diet

It may benefit you to add salt to your diet, especially upon rising and at least a half-hour before you have the lowest energy of the day. Take 1/8 to 1/2 teaspoonful of sea salt, Celtic salt or sea salt w/kelp powder, in an 8 oz glass of water. Below is a great article explaining the need for salt in adrenal fatigue. Don't let the title throw you off as you will see the connection to CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) as well. http://www.ei-resource.org/articles/chronic-fatigue-syndrome-articles/nutritional-considerations-in-chronic- fatigue-syndrome/ When the adrenal glands are fatigued they do not produce enough aldosterone. Aldosterone regulates the amount of sodium and potassium in the body. When aldosterone becomes deficient not enough salt is retained in the body. If you have been craving salt, this is probably the reason. There is a discussion about aldosterone in the link above. You'll have to scroll down to find it -- or read the whole article as there is a lot of good information here.

Qigong Breathing

Normal or diaphragmatic breathing can be practiced lying down or sitting in a chair. The practice methods are similar. The method of practice while sitting in a chair will be described. Inhale and exhale gently, smoothly and continuously through your nose. Sit comfortably, with your knees bent and your shoulders, head and neck relaxed. Place one hand on your upper chest and the other just below your rib cage. This will allow you to feel your diaphragm move as you breathe. As you inhale, the hand on your chest must move as little as possible, while the hand on your abdomen must move outwards, as you exhale the hand on your abdomen moves inward which you can help by slightly and gently pulling your abdominal muscle inward. Once again, the hand on your chest moves as little as possible. At first, you'll probably get tired while doing this exercise because an increased effort will be needed to use the diaphragm correctly. Keep at it, because with continued practice, diaphragmatic breathing will become easy and automatic. Practice this exercise 5-10 minutes a few times a day.
